Walk Your Talk

You are ready to go on your job interview, your first date, your first meeting with the in-laws. What are you saying to yourself? What picture of yourself are you projecting? What kind of pitch are you pitching in your mind?

If your thoughts are "Why am I doing this? I know they won’t like me. I don’t have enough education, they’re going to know that. I don’t think they are going to hire me." "She/he definitely won’t like me after the first five minutes. I’m too shy, I talk too much, I’m not very interesting. I’ll probably have bad breath." "They are going to HATE me! I know it. I’m taking their son or daughter away from them. I don’t measure up to their standards."

If those are your prevalent thoughts, this is how you probably look as you stand outside the threshold of where you are going. Your eyes are probably down and to the right as you talk to yourself, projecting all these negative thoughts. Your shoulders are slumped. Your posture is dipping forward. Your feet don’t want to move. Your hands are in your pockets, and they won’t come out to open the door.

What in the world are you doing to yourself?

Don’t you realize your mind is in control of your body? Don’t you realize your body is in control of your mind? See that circle we go in? If your body is slumped and dejected, your thoughts HAVE to be the same.

See the circle we go in? If your thoughts are dejected and self-defeating, your body can’t help but reflect that. If you are thinking, "I’m no good. I can’t do it" you certainly don’t see your body standing up, stretching, your arms doing the one-two punch, ready to take on the world, do you? Your body is in control of your mind.

Don’t waste your time saying none of that works for you. Take charge of your life. Straighten up your body, throw those shoulders back, hold your head up high, and march right into that situation!

The above is where Kwame would have benefited. He needed to take charge while still keeping his values. If he has different ways of handling situations, he will be more versatile. When he has to handle a negative situation, he can still be cool, but his stance has to change. His stance is what is shouting at the people (physiology is 55% of the communication and he's only smiling with his) and he wasn't "shouting" anything worthwhile except a smile as far as I could see. That's a lot of opportunity for communication that he wasn't utilizing.

TIP: You can't be down in the dumps with your shoulders back, your back straight, your head up, and that look on your face that says you can handle anything that comes down the Pike!

Your mind is in control of your body. Look at what you are thinking. Change your thinking to only one thing and you’ll be way ahead of the game. "I now release the pattern in my consciousness that is creating resistance to my good." After you’ve said it enough times, can’t you just feel your resistance leaving you? Can’t you feel the shift, where the weight on your shoulders starts disintegrating?

Even though it is actually working, you must SEE it working. You know those feet that wouldn’t move? Now, you be in charge and you don't let them move until you feel the shift. Don’t waste your time saying none of this works for you. You’ve got to move on and you can’t until you decide you can make almost ANYTHING work for you. The more you SAY it, the more you THINK it, the more you ATTRACT it. Do you WANT it in your life? What are you attracting? If it’s bad, STOP IT!

How? Take charge of your life. Once you get the negativity erased from your mind -- by saying "I now release the pattern in my consciousness that is creating resistance to my good" -- start thinking good thoughts. How about "They don’t know me. This is my best shot at SHOWING them who I am. I am going to WALK MY TALK."

What does that do to your posture? Didn’t I just say your mind was in control of your body? Didn’t YOU just prove it? See all the great things you can bring into your life, and share that knowledge and ability with others. Let me know how it works. Click here! I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you for reading.
