The Apprentice Review - Bren

Bren - fired!

These are only my opinions. Form your own and let me know what you think.

WEEK FOURTEEN: Bren was really ready to call it a day by the time he went into the Boardroom. I think he knew it was coming and was ready for it. He did say something like now he knows what's important in life, and that it was waiting for him back home.

WEEK THIRTEEN: Bren did a lousy ad copy, but no one bothered to mention it until they got to the Boardroom. He was the one picked by Chris and Alex to join their team and he was ready to help them get out of their losing streak.

WEEK TWELVE: Bren and Craig did a lousy job of researching silk screen artists. They spent their time going and getting what was effectively crap for the most part. One was done backwards, paint was on a shirt, ick! Crap. And there was no mention of getting their money back or negotiating a better deal. Which surely they must have?

WEEK ELEVEN: Bren was Project Manager this week. His team did well and they won.

WEEK TEN: Bren didn't stand behind his Project Manager. That wasn't a smart move. Their team won, but no thanks to Bren and the rest of the team.

WEEK EIGHT: Again, we didn't see too much of Bren this week either. He was enjoying himself, but mainly in the background.

WEEK SEVEN: We didn't see much of Bren this week. He's still hanging in there.

WEEK SIX: Bren smokes? But I digress.

Well, Bren had quite a week. His team won and he had his picture taken by a legendary photographer. One of the pictures was of him and some top models, another was of him with the rest of the Magna group -- and the Donald Trump sitting in the middle. All kidding aside, those pictures will be something to treasure for a long time.

WEEK FIVE: He was the Project Manager this week. He did pretty well, except when he had "college graduates" go get food. He took Stephannie and Michael with him to the Boardroom. He didn't have any reason to fear getting fired, in my humble opinion. Not when he had Michael with him. :)

WEEK FOUR: Bren was upset when he saw Michael come back from the Boardroom last week. He told Michael off later.

Bren was the one who came up with the homosexual commercial for Dove. Totally off the wall -- I can't see Dove, offering a family product, accepting anything like that. He was also the one who kept the actress from leaving the set. He said he's been married 9 years and that qualified him for working with people like the actress. Here's a secret: Bren admitted he was terrified of the Boardroom. Well, duh. You are not unique in that area. :)

WEEK THREE: Bren had some good comments and came up with a good idea. He was understandably upset with Michael, as everyone was.

WEEK TWO: Bren observed a lot and had opinions. When Verna left, he had to see to the customers' breakfasts, but he took care of it. Wasn't he sleeping when the first customers of the day came in?

WEEK ONE: Bren kind of has the appearance of Danny. He doesn't do much with his hair, doesn't stand straight and tall, and isn't presentable as a Trump employee. I think when a person takes pride in his or her appearance, they take pride in their work. Bren mentioned something to the effect that his looks are misleading and when people misjudge or underestimate him he goes in for the kill. That may be fine in his line of work, but what is he doing being a candidate if he doesn't conform to what Trump wants? Trump wants smart people, yes, but he also wants most of his employees to be a "people person". Again, I say. If you are there to apply for a job in a business that has suit people (which is where you will be placed until he knows what you can offer), wear what everyone else is wearing and look like everyone else is looking. It's vitally important that you come in looking like people they want in their organization. Once you are inside, then you can expand into something they can use elsewhere.
