Summer was brought back, along with all of the rest of the Apprentice Candidates, to see if Lee or Sean will hire her to help them win. Neither did.

Summer didn't participate enough to make a contribution, as far as I could see. To me, it was given that she was taken to the boardroom. If she would have used the "Hero" technique, instead of sitting there, letting things happen around her, she would have constantly been busy.
