Fired!

5.29.06

Bryce was brought back, along with all of the rest of the Apprentice Candidates, to see if Lee or Sean will hire him to help them win. Neither did.

4.3.06

Bryce's team was 25 minutes late for their meeting with Arby's executives. His jingle was good, but his team lost because they didn't add a crucial piece of advertising in their jingle.

When he went to the Boardroom, he took Lee, who wasn't able to work with them on a Jewish holiday, and Lenny, who didn't contribute much. Trump took exception to bringing Lee, saying we cannot hold a person's faith against him.

Before going to the Boardroom, Bryce had assured everyone he would not turn on them in the Boardroom, and he didn't. However, he wasn't able to pinpoint the person who messed up -- meaning who didn't do the jingle well, because they weren't in the Boardroom when Trump was doing the firing. I figure he didn't bring them to the Boardroom, because he felt they had all done a great job and why bring them in to be fired when they had performed well. Unfortunately, it looked to me as though he was operating under the fallacy that you can't succeed and be a nice guy at the same time. He obviously chose to be a nice guy. I'm saying you can be a nice guy and win. He could have answered Trump's questions succinctly and truthfully while still backing his people, and it wouldn't have hurt to ask Trump who he would have him pick to bring into the Boardroom. Or he could have reasoned, out loud, "The error is in the jingle, so I imagine you would like me to bring in Tarek and Charmaine" and ultimately that would put the blame on Trump as the reason of bringing them in.

Regardless, he should have left it up to Trump to fire whomever with the knowledge he had. He was trying to save everyone else as he went down. He could have done this without compromising his "nice guy" persona. Just answer the questions, one at a time, with as few defensive re-actions as necessary. The whole time keeping his Power Picture firmly in his vision. What do you think?

3.20.06

Bryce came up with the idea for the billboard, but when the pictures came, he didn't like them. His idea was a winner, AND the picture they used was great. In retrospect, he was brilliant enough to come up with the idea, but in the end, he nixed it. And yet it won. Hm.

3.13.06

Bryce had 20 minutes to alert the models to all the bells and whistles on the new 2007 Tahoe. I don't think he was able to do that. The models didn't have the answers the dealers needed.
